The 210 may be the smallest Cobalt, but it brings along all the nuances of design resulting from the thought and planning lavished on our biggest performance cruisers. The 210 invites its owners toward meaningful decision-making, as every square inch of its 8'6" beam, its 22'5" length, bow scuff plate to extended swim platform, has been applied to flat-out boating fun, to ease and function and convenience at every turn.
In the matter of sweet, sweet looks, 210 owners have no options whatsoever. Here are long, smooth, graceful lines, with such attention to surface detail, to the sweep and flow of subtlety as might catch a perfect light. The 210 looks good, looks big, is big. In the bow, for example, where the design showcases room, massive seating room that is every bit as real as the flared lines would have one believe.

Space is where one finds it, as the new Cobalt 230 makes all best use of every inch of room -- over, under, sideways, and aft – with four additional, longitudinal inches in the bow and ten inches in the cockpit. And, in keeping with its size and spaciousness, this boat has an especially large heart, with the addition to the options list of big-block engines and an accompanying 10-gallon bump in fuel capacity.
The high-horsepower stuff aside, the 230 concentrates on the details, the niceties that subtly extend a boat’s enjoyment: the extra room to stretch in the cockpit and bow, naturally, but also more cupholders, underseat storage, new piping on the upholstery, beefed-up engine venting, and other such particulars of evolutionary Cobalt design.

There are those who would ask too much of the Cobalt 232. Typically lacking the inhibitions that lifelong careers in banking bring along, these well-meaning owners impose on their 232's a daunting set of requirements: a perfect wake every run, fuel efficiency that belies the horsepower under the hood, comfortable come-one-come-all accommodation for a dozen friends, bedrock stability in the ride, nuanced control at the helm, and an all-around boatly attitude suggesting that indeed all things are possible. Maybe it's not too much to want after all.
Take a lingering look at the 232. What you see is obviously what you get: a hot rod ready to sit smiling at anchor, making everyone feel wonderfully cared for as the Garden Club plays pinochle in a glassine cove.

On the H220 the swim platform is extended, there
are standard pull-up cleats, plus a rub rail, grab handles and cupholders
of timeless stainless steel. A bow scuff plate is a standard feature.
The H220 has dual bucket seats that are more accommodating with suspension
and flip-up bolsters for an extra smooth ride. The deluxe bucket seats
also feature improved single-mechanism adjustment. And the unique
stern seat converts on a whim into two separate Mediterranean loungers.
Of course, seats feature Aquaflex vinyl, tops in marine-grade upholstery,
and the cockpit includes plush snap-in carpet over a fiberglass liner.
Storage plays a starring role on the H220 with aft deck and in-floor
compartments large enough for skis and wakeboards. The bow houses
storage beneath seats for fast access to the essentials. The cockpit
also conceals generous storage beneath the U-shaped seating. A removable
36-quart cooler is a standard amenity. The sophisticated helm with
top-stitched, hand-fitted vinyl on its shroud perfectly frames the
instrument panel. Surrounding the controls is a backdrop of beautifully
polished wood grain. The gauges are accented with polished, raised
bezels that add another stylish element to the helm. The striking
tri-spoke tilt steering wheel is flanked by controls that are both
logically arranged, and very reliable. Rotary switches, toggle-style
controls and push-button activators have been specifically chosen
to best handle the task they perform. |
